In a surprising announcement on Sunday, Elon Musk took to his official Twitter account to reveal some major changes coming to the popular social media platform. According to Musk, Twitter will soon change its logo, replacing the iconic bird symbol with a straightforward “X.”
Additionally, Musk stated that all birds will disappear from the platform altogether. This unexpected move has left many users speculating about the motives behind this decision and the potential impact it may have on the Twitter experience. Elon Musk, the enigmatic CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently took to Twitter to make a rather peculiar announcement. In a series of tweets, Musk declared his intention to bid farewell to the Twitter brand and even went as far as suggesting that, over time, all birds may become a thing of the past. This unexpected proclamation has left many wondering about the motivations behind Musk’s bold statement and what it could mean for the future of social media and avian life.
Will the Twitter logo change?
Elon Musk’s latest tweet suggests that he may soon make changes to Twitter’s logo. Before this, he had made another tweet in which he said that the X logo would be replaced with Twitter’s bird logo.
Also, in another tweet, he retweeted a short video of the Twitter bird changing into Twitter’s bird logo with fluctuating light. Let us tell you that the X logo belongs to Elon Musk’s new artificial intelligence company, xAi, which he launched a few days ago.
Many of Elon Musk’s companies start with X. His Space Exploration Technologies Corporation company name is SpaceX. Thus, X is being observed in both xAI and SpecX.
The old logo was replaced in 2012, and the logo was changed to that small bird. The bird itself has been altered to have a more symmetrical, clean-cut appearance. The prior bird’s plumage was removed, and the wings were formed by three overlapping circles.
The bird symbolizes the essence of online microblogs: The word “Twitter” closely resembles the sound “tweet,” which is a vocalization commonly associated with birds. A bird represents freedom and limitless possibilities. Short messages are delivered as quickly as birds can fly. But sadly, it’s going to be replaced by an ‘X’ recording of Musk’s recent tweet.
In April, the bird was temporarily replaced by Dogecoin’s Shiba inu dog, which contributed to a significant increase in the market value of the meme coin.
The company faced widespread criticism from users and marketing professionals after Musk announced earlier this month that Twitter would restrict the number of tweets various accounts could read in a day.
The daily limits contributed to the growth of Threads; a rival service owned by Meta. Threads achieved over 100 million sign-ups within just five days of its launch.
Twitter recently faced a new complication with a lawsuit filed on Tuesday. The lawsuit alleges that the company owes a minimum of $500 million in severance pay to former employees. Since Musk acquired the company, more than half of its workforce has been laid off in order to reduce costs.
