A set of 23 recommendations will shape the course of Bramptoin’s response to fire protection, city councillors unanimously approved Wednesday. Brampton council approved the five-year master plan at their regular council meeting, which aims to provide effective and efficient fire protection through comprehensive community risk assessment, faster emergency response and sustainability.
Among the recommendations, councillors approved the construction of three new fire stations in the city over the next decade, leveraging machine learning protocols to predict where fires will occur and proactively take action, and implementing increased inspects for select low-rise and industrial properties. “With the development of the (Brampton Fire Emergency Services) Fire Master Plan, our team can continue to ensure that Brampton is a well-run city and deliver excellence in emergency management and response,” said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown.
