Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab has been severely compromised. The agitators blocked their way. Due to this Prime Minister Narendra Modi cancelled the program of the proposed rally in Ferozepur and returned to Delhi. The security of the Prime Minister was breached when he left for Ferozepur by road instead of the helicopter due to inclement weather. When they reached near Mudaki in Ferozepur district, the agitators landed on the road with tractor trolleys. It is just 30 km from the Indo-Pakistan border. Therefore, with the Prime Minister’s convoy stopping in the High Sensitive Area, even the central agencies were shaken. Realizing the urgency of the situation, the central agencies issued an alert stating the danger of onward journey due to insecurity. Due to this Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Bathinda Airport.
Questions on Punjab Police, No Route Clear
The role of the Punjab Police has been called into question by the agitators landing on the Prime Minister’s route. This is because, after the cancellation of the helicopter tour program, when it came to road travel, the Punjab Police provided the road route to the PM’s security convoy, but the route was not safe. This has raised questions on the functioning of the Punjab Police.
Channi government, which came to the court after missing the security of the Prime Minister, made it clear that the security of the Prime Minister was secure. The missing road accident occurred due to the choice of road. It was also said that earlier the Prime Minister was supposed to reach the rally site by helicopter but due to inclement weather he abruptly left for the rally by road. The biggest question is how the agitators got the information when this route was not known to the Chief Minister’s Office and this route was decided abruptly and how they got on the road with Lam Lashkar.
