Amandeep a peaceful light we have in the House of Commons -Shafqat Ali

By: Surjit Singh Flora

Member of Parliament Amandeep Sodhi -Brampton Centre hosted her very successful first Community BBQ at Gage Park, Brampton, on Aug 25, featuring great food, music, kids’ activities, and community booths.
In her address to her guests, she expressed her gratitude to those standing alongside her today. At the beginning of my political journey, I contacted many of my colleagues to inquire about what this life was like, what it involved, and how I could enter the world of politics. They provided me with invaluable advice and imparted principles that I uphold every day in my career.
I would like to express my gratitude for that. I trust that everyone is having a wonderful time—savoring the food, appreciating the weather, and soaking in the vibes. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to engage in this tradition with all of you once more next year.
While Shafqat Ali, MP for Brampton—Chinguacousy Park and President of the Treasury Board of Canada, expressed his heartfelt sentiments, stating that it is truly an honour to be present in support of our youngest MP in the House of Commons, Amandeep Sodhi. I want to express my gratitude to everyone for your support, for being here, and for volunteering to assist us. She is an amazing, amazing MP and a brilliant human being. And you know what? Her name is Amandeep. You know what is meant by Aman? It’s peace. And deep is light. Therefore, this is a peaceful light we have in the House of Commons.
Additionally, we have Sonia Sidhu, recognized as one of the most dedicated MPs in our ranks. Whenever we meet, she discusses the challenges our community encounters. She is a champion for diabetes in Canada and serves as a representative at the UN, excelling in her role. This new government has been elected by you, and it is yours.
We believe that we represent you in every way. We have not been elected without your support. All of you have been elected to this new government. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Carney, we quickly set to work on the task that Canadians have entrusted to us as we navigate through a crisis.
We are facing difficulties. This world is unlike any other. Affordability, sovereignty, and economy are the primary concerns. In our community, safety is a significant concern. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Mark Carney in this new government, one of our significant achievements for the economy has been the passage of the One Canadian Economy Bill. This legislation aims to eliminate barriers within territories and commitments, enabling us to build the strongest economy in the G7. We are advancing national unity initiatives, including infrastructure projects, the Canada Builds Home program, and the Strong Border Act.
While Sonia Sidhu, Member of Parliament from Brampton South, stated that today we have come together to support our youngest MP, Amandeep Sodhi. Amandeep Sodhi is an outstanding colleague, and I am grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of this team. I understand that the election was challenging, but your support for the liberals has been invaluable.
