City of Brampton and Amalgamated Transit Union 1573 ratify collective agreement

BRAMPTON, ON (July 10, 2019) – The City of Brampton and Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1573 ratified a new collective agreement, effective July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2024. Council approved the new agreement, finalizing the deal, at its meeting today.

Serving the city since 1976, Brampton Transit is one of the fastest-growing transit providers in Canada. Moving more than 31 million passengers in 2018, Brampton Transit connects riders to major attractions and destinations in Brampton, as well as public transit systems in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Ridership Stats:

  • Average weekday ridership: 116,000*
  • Average weekly ridership:  671,000*
  • Average monthly ridership: 2,603,256**

*Average for September, October & November 2018
