It all began in 1993 when Peel Regional Police partnered up with Canadian Tire and Salvation Army to create the Toys for Tots campaign. Officers initially collected donations in water jugs to purchase new toys for underprivileged children within the community. Each year we strive to reach more and more children by delivering a message of hope and encouragement to them and their families in a manner which is meaningful and relevant. In 2018 nearly 9,000 families were assisted by the campaign.

Constable Emily Rogers is the Chairperson for the 2019 Toys for Tots campaign, and she says, “It is such a wonderful opportunity to be able to give the gift of Christmas to so many children and families in need. Toys for Tots is in its 27th season of collecting new, unwrapped toys, gift cards, cash and Canadian Tire money. We are partnered with Salvation Army and Canadian Tire to provide toys to families in need of assistance over the holidays. We always emphasize older children (10-14-year range) as we often struggle to receive for this age group. Campaign kicks off from Nov. 13th to Dec.15th

The generosity within Peel Region is incredible and I can’t wait to have another successful campaign this year she added.

Donations will be accepted at all Peel Regional Police divisions and community stations. Monetary donations in the form of a cheque can be mailed directly to Peel Regional Police, Toys for Tots, 7150 Mississauga Road, Mississauga Ontario, L5N 8M5. Should you require a tax receipt, please make the cheque payable to Salvation Army c/o Toys for Tots, and a receipt will be mailed to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or 905-453-2121 ext. 4019 if you have any questions regarding this year’s campaign.
