At councillor meet and greet, people make noise for another hospital
On Saturday, November 27th, City Councillor Jeff Bowman and Region Councillor Martin Medeiros invited wards 3-4 residents to join at Shoppers World for a meet and greet to get feedback from the citizens and hear from local residents about issues that are important to them and the wider community and discuss how they can continue to help move Brampton forward.
When Asia Metro editor asked Councillors Jeff and Martin about the main issue highlighted by Bramptonians so far, Martin said it’s “ Hospital”. Councillor Jeff said, Brampton is grown up big time, so while the province announced a 250-bed hospital, it’s not going to help; we need another full 800-1000 bed hospital to take care of Bramptonians health issues.
There was big hope when Linda Jeffery was mayor, and Kathleen Wynn was the premier: both were Liberals, and both worked together, but sadly, they were unsuccessful in doing much about Brampton city. Now, MPP Prabmeet Sarkaria is doing his best and understands the problems of Bramptonians. Still, the question is, does his government (led by Doug Ford) understand the health crises of Bramptonians.
While we asked one of the Brampton residents, Satnam Singh, about the Brampton city issues, he said, It seems like no matter whether it’s Liberal or PC government, Brampton is always going to be ignored, because, at the end of the day, it’s “Brown” Town, and Brown can be only used to gain seats, work hard, do labour, pay taxes, high insurance, let the party win, that’s all they are good for.
