Brampton Fire wins multiple first place titles at

international competition in Alabama

BRAMPTON, ON (February 5, 2020) – At today’s City Council meeting, members of Brampton Fire and Emergency Services were recognized for their gold medal performance at the Firefighter Combat Challenge World Competition.
Brampton’s team – led by former World Champion and District Chief, Peter Reid – consisted of five Brampton Firefighters; Katie Ross, Anthony Burch, Dan Palmer, Ryan Dosman and Ian Pringle, who secured first place in a number of individual and team races.
Each year, competitors from across North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East take part in the multiple day event in hopes of bringing home the World Champion title. The 2019 Championship took place in Montgomery, Alabama in October 2019.
Prior to heading to Worlds, the team also won a number of titles at the National FireFit competition in Oshawa in September 2019.
Brampton Fire and Emergency Services have a long history of national and international successes at the competitions. With training plans for 2020 already underway, the team looks forward to recruiting new members from the Brampton Fire team and repeating last year’s success.

 Katie Ross won first place in the Female Individual category.
 Danny Palmer and Katie Ross won first place in the Coed Tandem category.
 Katie Ross and Elissa Carvello (Vaughan Fire) won first place in the Female Tandem category.
 Katie Ross, Elissa Carvello (Vaughan) and Kelti May Nicol (Alberta) won first place in the Female Team Relay category.
 Ian Pringle, Danny Palmer and Ryan Dosman won sixth place in the Individual Team Time category.
 Ian Pringle and Danny Palmer won ninth place in the Men’s Tandem category.
