Brampton is offering free bus rides later this month for new residents looking to get familiar with the city they now call home.
Since 2009, the City of Brampton has offered free tours to new immigrants and recently arrived residents to allow them an opportunity to get familiar with their surroundings.
Tours will take place on Aug. 20 and Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tours begin and end at the Chinguacousy Branch of Brampton Library. Space is limited and interested participants are asked to register by calling the Brampton Library at 905-793-4636 or visiting a library branch in person.
Over approximately three hours, staff will help familiarize riders with Canada’s ninth largest city, its history and how to go about accessing available services, from obtaining a library card to alerting 911.
Riders will visit municipal facilities and places of interest like heritage areas, parks, libraries, community centres and public transit services.
