Ottawa (talks): Canada will open an embassy in Rwanda for the first time in its diplomatic history. “For the first time, we are going to open an embassy in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda,” Canadian Foreign Minister Melania Jolie told reporters here. Canada needs more equipment and resources on the ground in Rwanda.
He also announced the appointment of a new Ambassador to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Canadian Prime Ministers Justin Trudeau and Jolly are currently assisting in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Rwanda with 54 other countries. .
