Car takes a splash in Brampton pond, police investigating

Police are looking for leads after the male occupant of a vehicle was seen fleeing after driving it into a Brampton pond.
The bizarre case was revealed earlier this week when Peel Police issued an advisory noting that its Marine Unit was called to the Cirillo Street and Valleyway Drive area early Monday morning around 2:30 a.m., after a resident called in to report that a vehicle had gone into the water. According to eyewitnesses, the occupant of the vehicle fled the scene after it went into the water, and officers are now canvassing the community for additional information.
A description of the vehicle or its model wasn’t available, as of press time. Residents with additional information regarding the case are asked to call Peel Police at (905) 453-3311, ext. 2200.
