BRAMPTON, ON (October 4, 2021) – Starting today, the City of Brampton is accepting applications for two community grant opportunities, one to support Brampton-based non-profit organizations delivering vital programs and services and the other to help local artists recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patrick Brown, Mayor, City of Brampton said  “Now more than ever, our artists and non-profit organizations need our support to better serve the community and help with recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Brampton is a City of Opportunities, and I’m pleased to see the ongoing success of the Advance Brampton Fund and the benefit it provides to our non-profit organizations. I’m also proud to be introducing this new opportunity for individual artists. Brampton’s creative community has been significantly impacted by the pandemic, and I’m hopeful that this opportunity will help them to move forward and begin recovery.”

Advance Brampton Fund

A $600,000 community-grant program that provides eligible Brampton-based non-profit or charitable organizations with funds to deliver programs and services that meet the needs of the community.

There are three funding streams:

Emerging – provides up to $5,000 in matching funds for new and innovative projects. Open from October 4 to 29.

Developing – provides up to $12,500 in matching funds for programs that have run at least once in Brampton. Open from October 4 to November 29.

Amplifying – provides up to $25,000 in matching funds for projects that have run at least twice in Brampton. Open from October 4 to November 29.

Applications for all streams of funding will pertain to projects taking place in 2022. Grants are open to those that provide services for Brampton residents; including incorporated non-profit organizations, registered charities and, for the Emerging stream, unincorporated non-profit groups. For each of the funding streams, applicants must select a Term of Council Priority their project best aligns with.

Interested organizations are invited to attend a virtual information sessions on the application process:

October 7 – Emerging Fund Information Session

October 14 – Developing Fund Information Session

October 21 – Amplifying Fund Information Sessions

To further support local non-profits and charities, the Advance Brampton Fund has partnered with Ryerson University’s G. This program is an extension of the 2020 COVID-19 Relief Fund for Artists and Arts Organizations.

Individual artists can apply for up to $2,000 to help stabilize, adapt, or rebuild their creative practice in the wake of the pandemic. Applications for individual artists will be accepted starting October 4 on an ongoing basis until either the end of 2021 or the available funding is exhausted. The total amount of funding available is $100,000.

Information sessions will also be held for artists and potential applicants to review application requirements. Details here.
