Guru Nanak Devji’ s Birth Anniversary Celebrated

Brampton: The 553rd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and Jagat Guru, was celebrated with great reverence and fanfare by gurdwaras across Canada. Recitations held at Nanaksar Baba Gurdev Singh Ji Bhai Ki Samadha in Brampton were held on Tuesday November 8 evening.

After Guru Sahib’s Gurpurab ceremony on 8th November Canada – Consulate General of Toronto. Apoorva Srivastava and Indian High Commissioner designate Sanjay Varma reached the Guru Ghar and greeted devotees.

HC Varma congratulated the Sikh community in Toronto. and said, “I need everyone’s support so that I can serve everyone to the fullest

Sonia Sidhu, MP from Brampton South said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji inspired humanity with new ideas, and wonders and called to get rid of the evils of hypocrisy, lies, deceit and caste. .

Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria MPP from Brampton South and current parliamentary secretary and President of the Treasury Board congratulated everyone on the Parkash Day of Guru Sahib on behalf of himself and the Doug Ford government.

Prime Minister Justin sent a press note to the media :  “On Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary, families and loved ones will come together to reflect on life and the teachings of unity, compassion, and equality—the core values of Sikhism that Canadians embrace every day.” As Sikhs, as we honor the life of Guru Nanak, I hope we can all find inspiration in his teachings and his universal and eternal message to us all.

“This day is also an opportunity to recognize the contribution Sikh Canadians have made – and continue to make – to creating a better Canada. Sikhs across the country practice seva, or selfless service, by helping Canadians in need regardless of background.

“On behalf of our family, Sophie and I extend our warmest wishes to those celebrating Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab.”

Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre congratulated the entire Sikh community. In a statement, he said that Sikhs in Canada and around the world are celebrating the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. He said that Guru Nanak gave a message to the people to adopt the values of peace, generosity, and compassion. Even in childhood, Guru Ji gave this guidance on how to live together with others. Millions of Sikhs around the world are leading their lives by following his path.

Today, the Sikh community is trying to follow the path shown by Guru Nanak. Amidst these celebrations, Sikhs recite, do kirtan, and always try to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, like chanting Naam, eating the earnings of ten pieces, and sharing.

Poilievre said that half a million Sikhs live in Canada and are making efforts to make the country more peaceful and open and welcoming to others.

Due to their contribution, the lives of Canadians have become prosperous, and they are ready to help other communities and share happiness. Finally, on behalf of himself and his family, Poilievre congratulated everyone on Gurpurab and gave a message to live together.

Also Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown extend his warmest wishes to Sikh community on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab.”
