Brampton: The 553rd birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and Jagat Guru, was celebrated with great reverence and fanfare by gurdwaras across Canada. Recitations held at Nanaksar Baba Gurdev Singh Ji Bhai Ki Samadha in Brampton were held on Tuesday November 8 evening.
After Guru Sahib’s Gurpurab ceremony on 8th November Canada – Consulate General of Toronto. Apoorva Srivastava and Indian High Commissioner designate Sanjay Varma reached the Guru Ghar and greeted devotees.

Sonia Sidhu, MP from Brampton South said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji inspired humanity with new ideas, and wonders and called to get rid of the evils of hypocrisy, lies, deceit and caste. .
Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria MPP from Brampton South and current parliamentary secretary and President of the Treasury Board congratulated everyone on the Parkash Day of Guru Sahib on behalf of himself and the Doug Ford government.

In a statement, he said that Sikhs in Canada and around the world are celebrating the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Poilievre said that half a million Sikhs live in Canada and are making efforts to make the country more peaceful and open and welcoming to others.
