BRAMPTON, ON (November 8, 2023) – Many residents will be lighting fireworks to celebrate the Diwali festival this weekend. Follow these guidelines to safely dispose of used fireworks:
- Place used or extinguished sparklers and fireworks in a bucket of water immediately after use. Soak them overnight.
- Drain the water and put the used sparklers or fireworks in the garbage.
Fireworks are only accepted in the garbage when the above guidelines are followed. If your garbage bin is full, place extra garbage at the curb using a bag tag.
Active fireworks are not collected at the curb or accepted at Community Recycling Centres. For more information, check the waste sorter.
