The Federal Development Agency of Southern Ontario supports Brampton to fuel community revitalization and create conditions for local economies to rebound
August 22nd, 2023 – Brampton, Ontario On Friday, Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North alongside Patrick Brown, Mayor of the City of Brampton announced an investment of $750K to enhance the Brampton North region under the Federal Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF). With this investment, the City of Brampton will be able to enhance the Sesquicentennial Park which reinvent the recreational space for Brampton North children and families while increasing accessibility to outdoor spaces.
The project will construct the Hub, featuring fully accessible, innovative play structures, and recreational elements for all ages and abilities. The project will also support the purchase and installation of recreational elements including accessible swings, climbers, wheelchair-friendly gathering areas, shade shelters, picnic areas, splash pad, accessible fitness equipment, accessible play surfacing, walking trails, and naturalized planting.
While Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North said, “With this investment, families & children in Brampton North will be able to enjoy a vibrant, safe & accessible outdoor space to connect within their community, while encouraging mental and physical health for everyone. Sesquicentennial Park is an important landmark in Brampton North and this investment will make a great impact on the families and young people who enjoy spending time in the park.” –
