On Sunday, the vibrant community from across Brampton and the GTA came together at Lougheed Park for an afternoon of connection, food, and celebration during the highly anticipated Annual Community Barbeque hosted by Member of Parliament, Sonia Sidhu.
It was a wonderful day filled with music, delicious food and conversation. While Residents enjoyed delicious food, refreshing beverages, and a variety of activities for all age groups. From face painting and balloon animals for the kids, to live music and engaging discussions for the adults, the event truly had something for everyone. Bike Brampton had a booth to spread awareness about active living and provide on-side bicycle tuning. Music, games and face painting for the children and youths attendees by local music therapy not for profit organization, which not only engaged the crowd with their informative booth, but also with their live performances.
MP Sidhu expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the community’s continuous support and emphasized the significance of these kinds of gatherings in fostering strong relationships with neighbors. “The Annual Community Barbeque is not just an event, but a platform where our diverse community can come together to celebrate our shared values, cultures, and aspirations,” she said. “It’s a time to connect, engage, and build a stronger Brampton South.”
This event was attended by local municipal, regional and federal representatives and elected officials. The event also provided an opportunity for residents to interact directly with their local representatives, sharing concerns, ideas, and suggestions for the betterment of their neighborhoods. With community engagement at the core of her vision, MP Sidhu remains committed to creating platforms where constituents can have their voices heard.
The success of the Annual Brampton South Barbeque once again underscores the power of the community. MP Sidhu thanks all attendees, stakeholders, and community leaders for their unwavering support and looks forward to continuing working with them to build a stronger and more connected city.
Also, the event was attended by regional Ministers Khera and Valdez, Members of Parliament, council members, and school trustees.
After all, “It was a great day, a total success,” Sidhu added. “We were certainly fortunate with the weather; everyone had a good time, and we had a fantastic turnout of both adults and children.”
