Region of Peel– Peel Regional Police continue to search for a 23-year-old woman who police believe was kidnapped from a residence in the area of Mississauga Road and Mayfield Road in the City of Brampton.

On Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 2:56 a.m., it is reported that there was a disturbance at a residence on Adventura Drive in Brampton. It is reported that a man was screaming and banging on the door of the residence.

Officers attended the residence and where a female screaming from somewhere inside the residence and police entered the house. There was an interaction between the police and a man at which time an officer discharged their firearm. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle with a woman inside who we believe is being held against her will.

The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Kwami Garwood. The female victim is 23-year-old Salina Ouk. The outstanding vehicle is a Black Honda Civic with Ontario Licence plates BZHE 247. Both the suspect and victim are known to each other.

Kwami Garwood is believed to be armed and dangerous and police are asking anyone that sees the suspect or the vehicle, to contact 9-1-1 immediately and do not approach him.

Peel Regional Police continue to actively search for the victim, suspect and outstanding vehicle. The safety and well-being of Salina Ouk is our primary concern.

To view a photo of the victim, Salina Ouk and the suspect, Kwami Garwood, please visit our website.

The Special Investigations Bureau mandate was invoked as per the Special Investigations Unit Act because a police officer discharged a firearm at a person.

Anyone with any additional information including dashcam or video surveillance is asked to call investigators at 22 Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453–2121, extension 2233. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

For media inquiries, please contact the on-duty Public and Media Relations Officer at 905-453-2121, extension 4027.
