The Ontario government has updated screening guidelines for schools and childcare before school opens next week, saying it now includes symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat and headaches. Will not be done.
The screening form now contains only five symptoms, most of which are related to the virus. It is also stated that we will continue to update the guidelines as we learn more about Covid-19. The five symptoms include fever / chills, cough or whooping cough, shortness of breath, loss or loss of sense of smell or taste, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
The guidelines also state that siblings of children with symptoms of COVID-19 will be allowed to attend school once they have been vaccinated. Last winter, they were also asked to stay home. There are also instructions that parents can keep their children at home from childcare or school if they notice any symptoms of Covid-19 in their children.
After a tour of a vaccination clinic on Monday, Toronto’s medical officer of health, Dr. Elaine de Villa, said that if any one of the five symptoms appeared in children, the instructions would remain the same as last year.
