Schools are open, and students have been out and about, making it the perfect time for a School Blitz Campaign last week. Road safety is a priority to Peel Regional Police, requiring every motorist and pedestrian to work together to ensure our communities’ safety.
The Uniform Patrol officers and Road Safety Services were out in full force in school zones and school bus routes last week. It resulted in 79 tickets issued from February 17-19, 2021, for varying offences, the majority being speeding violations, followed by child passengers not properly secured and disobey stop signs.
Peel Regional Police encourages drivers to practice responsible, safe driving by being free from distractions and being particularly observant when traveling through residential areas, school zones, and bus routes.
