olice, fire and paramedics in Peel Region are competing to see which agency can donate the most blood to Canadian Blood Services.
Every summer, Canadian Blood Services runs the Sirens for Life challenge in our Region to help patients in need of blood at local hospitals.
Peel Regional Police were the champions in 2018 for having the most volunteers donate blood and we hope to have even more this year! Our employees are rolling up their sleeves in part for friendly competition but ultimately because they want to give the gift of life.
“Each and everyday thousands of people need blood. I myself needed blood as a young person and if it wasn’t for the generosity of complete strangers I wouldn’t be here today” says Sergeant Matt Small from 21 Division who has been donating for many, many years.
Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past and will continue to donate in the future.
Blood, it’s in us to give.
