All Town of Caledon facilities, including Town Hall and all recreation facilities, will remain closed until further notice. The Town had previously announced these closures through Apr. 5. “We don’t take this decision lightly, we know these closures impact the daily lives of our residents,” said Mayor Allan Thompson. “But based on the best advice we are getting from public health experts we need to continue doing all we can to fight this pandemic.”

The Caledon Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), in consultation with its regional partners, is continually assessing the situation to determine any necessary changes to operations, programs or service levels, the Town said in a statement. Additionally, the Town said it is focused its staffing and resource levels to provide core services, while at the same time taking all available measures to mitigate risk and protect the health and safety of residents. The Town has already implemented a wide range of service level adjustments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Municipal Law Enforcement Officers are continuing to attend to urgent, high-priority calls and enforcement needs in the community. For more information call (905) 584-2272, ext. 3462.

The Town is continuing to provide phone and email service through Service Caledon at 905.584.2272 x. 7750 ([email protected]) Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and through www.caledon.ca. Town Hall, community centres, recreation centres and all other Town offices and buildings are closed to the public until further notice. A total burn ban is in effect, and burn permits are currently unavailable. Playground equipment is notsanitized, and surfaces could spread COVID- 19. If parents, children, families are choosing to visit parks, practice social distancing, and wash and sanitize their hands thoroughly afterwards. For information and updates from Peel Public Health, please visit the region’s main resource page at peelregion.ca/coronavirus, or call (from Caledon) (905) 584-2216 during business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
