Canada’s Best Employers of 2020 is City of Brampton – Forbes Magazine report

BRAMPTON, ON (February 7, 2020) – In January 2020, the City of Brampton was recognized by Forbes as one of Canada’s Best Employers 2020, a list of the 300 top employers in Canada.

In 2019, The City of Brampton ranked 66th on the Forbes List. In 2020, the City climbed to rank 48th out of 300. The City was one of only two Canadian Government Services organizations in the top 50 on the list, alongside the City of Ottawa.

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to identify the companies liked best by employees in the annual ranking of Canada’s best employers.

Respondents were asked to anonymously rate, on a scale of zero to 10, how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. Statista then asked respondents to nominate organizations other than their own. The final list, compiled by surveying 8,000 Canadians working for businesses with at least 500 employees, ranks the 300 employers that received the most recommendations.

“The City of Brampton is an employer of choice for current and former employees, and those that recognize and are interested in the important work that the City of Brampton does in building our community. We are proud to be recognized by Forbes as one of Canada’s Top Employers!” said  Patrick Brown, Mayor, City of Brampton

“The City of Brampton is one of Canada’s Top Employers and Brampton is one of Canada’s most diverse communities. Last year, we launched a number of new initiatives including a five-year Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Work Plan, which will help our organization better reflect the Mosaic of our community.” Said  Harkirat Singh, Chair, Corporate Services; City Councillor, Wards 9 & 10, City of Brampton

“We’re building change in Brampton, as one of the youngest, fastest growing, most diverse cities in the country. We’re aiming high and thinking big, to position Brampton as an emergent global city of the future. It is exciting that Forbes has recognized our organization, which is a reflection of our dedicated team of engaged, excited and empowered employees that are delivering daily results for Brampton.” Said David Barrick, Chief Administrative Officer, City of Brampton
