Brampton, – The crowd is in high spirits for Inspirational Steps 2023 at Terry Fox Track and Field Stadium in Brampton’s Chinguacousy Park on July 16. Till now around 700 runners and walkers have registered to participate in it and many more are still registering their names. This registration can be done till 8 am on July 16. The purpose of this event is to create health awareness among people, help needy students for higher education, spread environmental awareness and help poor and needy persons.
Eight of Brampton’s leading organizations including Guru Gobind Singh Children’s Foundation, T.P.A.R. Club, Enlight Kids for Education, Rational Society of Canada, Association of Seniors Clubs, Sahayata, Drugs Awareness Society, Pingalwada. During this, special prizes will be given to the first, second and third place in half-marathon, 10 km and 5 km runs. Apart from this, there will be 400 meters race for small children and one kilometer race for youth and elders, in which prizes will also be given to the participants.
The 400 meters race for young children will start at 11.00 a.m. and the one-kilometer race for youths and seniors will start at 11.45 a.m. The 5-kilometer race for the youth runners participating in this running event will start at 9.30 a.m. and the 10-kilometer race will start at 9.00 a.m. while the half-marathon race which takes longer to complete will start at 8.25 a.m. . Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, City Council members and other prominent social and political figures will cheer on the runners and walkers. This event of ‘Run and Fun’ will be full of entertainment in which people along with their families are participating. Arrangements are also being made by the organizers for music and face-painting for the children to enthrall the people.
