To help Ukraine meet urgent spending needs and mitigate the economic impact of Russia’s military invasion, the International Monetary Fund on Wednesday had approved $1.4 billion in emergency financing. “The Russian military invasion of Ukraine has been responsible for a massive humanitarian and economic crisis,” IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said.Meanwhile, a Russian airstrike had hit a Mariupol children’s hospital on Wednesday and reacting to the airstrikes, Ukraine President Zelinskyy tweeted, “Mariupol. Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.”

– US vice president calls for international war crimes investigation of Russia over Ukraine invasion, the bombing of civilians, reported AP.
– Russia is ready to continue talks with Ukraine within the framework of the existing format in Belarus, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart, AFP News Agency reported.
– The UK on Thursday imposed sanctions on 7 wealthy Russians including Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea soccer club, PTI reported quoting AP.
– 3 people, including child, killed as a result of the Russian airstrike on the children’s maternity hospital in Mariupol. At least 17 people were injured, Mariupol City Council reported, ANI reported quoting The Kyiv Independent.
–Ukraine is opening seven “humanitarian corridors” on Thursday for civilians to leave cities besieged by Russian forces, including the southern port of Mariupol, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said.
– As per United Nations, over 2 million Ukrainian people have left the country due to the ongoing Russian invasion. According to the UN, there has been no such crisis in Europe since World War II.
–The US House of Representatives has passed aid of USD 13.6 billion to Ukraine and its European allies. The legislation would fund the US government through September 30, 2022. Current funding is set to run out on Friday at midnight.
–Foreign ministers from Russia and Ukraine will meet in Turkey on Thursday in the first high-level talks between the two countries since Moscow invaded its neighbour, with Ankara hoping they could mark a turning point in the raging conflict, reports Reuters
– White House warned about the possible use of biological weapons by Russia in Ukraine’s invasion. “Now that Russia has made these false claims, and China has seemingly endorsed this propaganda, we should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them. It’s a clear pattern,” Jen Psaki WH Press Secretary said.
–Ukraine has warned about the power cut in Chernobyl nuclear plant. As per IAEA, there is no critical impact on safety. Meanwhile, as per UN’s atomic watchdog, data transmission has been lost at Zaporizhzhia, Europe’s largest nuclear plant, reported AFP.
– Ukraine President Zelenskyy, said 35,000 civilians evacuated from Ukrainian cities on Wednesday.
-Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had arrived in Turkey for talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, to meet in Versailles on Thursday and Friday, as Russia’s war against Ukraine, which Moscow calls a “special military operation”, enters its third week.
